The Dalai Lama Trust would like to wish everyone a very happy Losar. We realise that the past year has been difficult for many and that there are difficult events unfolding in the world right now. We stand in solidarity with all those experiencing difficulties and we pray that this new year may usher in peace.

His Holiness has released a message for Losar. His Holiness says that he is hopeful that this Losar will be a pleasant, joyful and comfortable occasion for all Tibetans- for those in exile and especially our fellow Tibetans in Tibet. His Holiness explains that at Losar, we spend time with our families and loved ones and feel refreshed and restored. His Holiness also expresses that he is confident that he will continue to live as the physical, verbal and mental representative, respectively, of Arya Avalokiteshvara’s holy body, speech and mind for another decade or more.

His Holiness ends the message by saying, “Since Arya Avalokiteshvara is the deity of compassion, it is very important for all Tibetans to cultivate compassion. Please keep this in mind and do your best to be good human beings. Tashi Delek.”
